Money is the core resource in Zoo RPG. You’ll earn it over time and spend it to expand and automate your zoo.
Money is shown with your selected currency symbol and commas (e.g. $1,000, £1,000, or €1,000). The symbol is display-only; it does not change balances or prices.
How you earn money
- Visitor tickets every tick (scaled by Popularity)
- Baseline income each tick (steady, low but reliable)
- Quest rewards (daily & weekly)
- Reputation path bonuses if you chose Tycoon
- Research bonuses from visitor/revenue nodes
Ticket income is tuned for real-time pacing — expect upgrades to take hours, not minutes.
What money is used for
- Animals (purchase + transport)
- Enclosures (build costs)
- Attractions (build + upgrades)
- Items & Supplies (food, meds, cleaning)
- Workers (hiring costs scale up + per-tick salaries)
- Breeding fees
- Club upgrades, production recipes, and market listings in Society systems
Refunds
Removing an empty enclosure returns 30% of its build cost.
Currency display
Change your preferred symbol in Settings → Currency display. Supported symbols are $, £, €, ¥, A$, C$, and NZ$.
Tips
- Baseline income is roughly $60/hour at default pacing — visitor tickets are the real growth engine.
- Keep animals healthy and enclosures clean to maximize visitor income.
- Attractions and workers pay off over time — budget for them early.
- Don’t forget to claim quest rewards.
- Use Research and Reputation Paths for small passive boosts.
