Breeding

Breeding lets you create babies from adult pairs of the same species. It’s a great way to grow your zoo — just be ready to care for newborns.

Requirements

• Same species and opposite sex
• Both are adults
• Healthy (health 50+)
• Not too hungry (hunger 80 or lower)
• Same built enclosure with at least 1 free slot
• Female not already pregnant
• Both parents off cooldown
• You can afford the breeding fee

Cost

Breeding costs 35% of the animal’s shop price (minimum $150). The fee is paid when you start breeding.

Pregnancy & newborns

• Pregnancy lasts several hours depending on species.
• When the timer ends, a baby is born in the mother’s enclosure.
• If the enclosure is full, the baby waits unassigned until there’s room.

Baby care

Newborns require extra attention for roughly 4 hours:

• Hunger rises faster
• Health drops faster if they’re hungry

Keep extra food on hand and check in regularly.

• Shop animals are always Common — breeding is the way to roll higher rarity.
• Keep enclosures clean and animals healthy to avoid failed breeding.
