Dev Log #23 — Smoother Game Flow & Better Guidance
Over the last few days, we shipped a batch of player-facing improvements focused on one thing: making everyday gameplay feel smoother.
No giant system overhaul this time — just lots of high-impact quality-of-life upgrades.
What’s new for players
1) A cleaner main game screen
We removed extra quick-action clutter from the dashboard/header so the game feels less noisy and easier to scan.
2) Better tab navigation
Your active game tab now behaves more consistently, including when using direct links.
That means less jumping to unexpected tabs and a more predictable experience when returning to the game.
3) Purchases are easier to understand
Buying is now handled directly inside the relevant game sections instead of relying on a separate shop modal flow.
This keeps actions closer to context and reduces back-and-forth clicks.
4) Clearer action feedback
We standardized success/error messages so actions feel more consistent and understandable across the game.
We also improved “not enough money” messaging to be clearer at a glance.
5) Safer enclosure removal
Accidentally removed an enclosure? You now get a short undo window, so misclicks are much less painful.
6) Smoother loading states
Game tabs now show consistent loading skeletons, reducing visual jumps while data is loading.
7) Better quantity inputs
Quantity fields behave more naturally while editing and validate more reliably on submit.
8) Better tutorial/onboarding flow
Tutorial and progression guidance received a significant pass so tasks and rewards are easier to follow.
9) New in-game updates panel
You can now see recent updates directly from inside the game dashboard, with quick links to full posts.
No need to hunt around to know what changed.
10) Improved session re-login flow
If your session expires, re-auth is now clearer and smoother so you can get back to where you were with less friction.
11) Daily login rewards are now live
You can now claim a daily login reward from the Quests tab.
- Streaks run in a 7-day cycle
- Missing a day resets the streak
- Day 7 gives a medium bonus reward
- Day 30 gives a big milestone reward
12) Tutorial panel now fits narrow phone screens better
We shipped a follow-up layout polish so the tutorial’s current task and controls are easier to read and tap on small-width devices (including folded/outer phone screens).
13) Account export + account deletion tools are live
From the Profile tab, you can now:
- export your account data
- permanently delete your account with confirmation
If you delete your account, you’ll be logged out, sent to the homepage, and shown a confirmation message.
Why this matters
A lot of this work is “small things done right” — but those are the changes you feel every single session.
Cleaner UI, clearer messages, safer actions, and less friction means more time actually building your zoo.
